So many cats!!!
Big cats, tiny cats. Every color possible.
How to choose? Frowning you scanned the room. You wanted a cat that wasn't very well liked by the others. One that you could shower with affection.
A large gray brown cat sat off to the side. The other cats skirted around it.
"Can I have that guy?" You squeaked pointing towards him.
Elizabeta looked surprised, "You sure? Nobody really likes that cat. Sometimes people do adopt him, but they always bring him back."
You felt your heart throb in sympathy. You had to have that cat. "I am one hundred percent sure!!"
Shrugging she hefted the large cat into an over sized carrier and handed you a stack of papers.
After signing and paying the adoption fee you loaded the cat into the passenger seat of your car.
"Soooooooo." You made a right turn out of the parking lot
"What to call you.." You looked over at him. The cat had a rather large nose and purple eyes. Too cute.
"Miss Elizabeta said that you're a Siberian Forest cat. Should I give you a Russian name?" The cat blinked.
Hmmmm you didn't really know any Russian names. You studied that cat carefully. He kind of reminded you of a Russian kid from High school. Ivan Braginski or something like that.
"How about Ivan." He stared, his purple eyes looking as if they could see into your very soul.
You stared, did he just say yes in Russian? No. Cats can't talk....Right?
You soon realized that the little "Da" sound was actually how Ivan meowed. For such a big cat it was a small sound. But it suited his personality. He was like a kitten, each new discovery at your house a new adventure, it was really cute.
However you soon came to realize that he had a dangerous protective side.
The week after you had gotten Ivan, your boyfriend came over. He was a whiny, egotistical man. You wondered why you had even started dating him.
Ivan wouldn't let him near you.
You'd sit down on the couch, Ivan would stretch his body mass over the rest of it, leaving no room for the guy.
When ever he tried to touch you, Ivan would be there. His purple eyes giving off a silent warning.
"Geez. You're cat is frickin' annoying." You glared at the man. "IVAN is not annoying.
He's very sweet."
The cat gave a little Da in agreement.
"Whatever." Getting up he sauntered out the door, slamming it behind him.
"Geez. Why do I even date such a jackass?" Ivan looked up at you and gave what looked like a kitty version of a shrug.
That night your heater broke. But luckily for you, Ivan gave off enough heat to melt Sibera.
You soon grew used to having his fluffy mass follow you every where. It felt strange when you went out and he wasn't there.
You sighed and pulled onto your street. It had been a long day at work, it would be nice to see Ivan. His little Da greeting you.
You froze as the car approached your house. Three police cars and an ambulance were outside your house.
Pulling up you jumped out. "Whats going on?"
A policeman with rather large eyebrows stepped in front of you. "Are you the owner of this house?" You noted his British accent.
"Y-yes. Whats going on?" You look at your house worriedly.
The man rubbed the back of his neck, "I don't now how to say this....."
"Is my cat okay?!" He nods
"Um geez." He grimaced, "This is going to sound strange."
You clutched the front of your shirt "What?! What?!"
Letting out a sigh he squinted, "Well apparently someone broke into your house, planing to wait for you and attack. But he met your cat."
You frowned, "Wha-?"
He cut you off with a wave of his hand "To make a long story short. Your cat attacked the man, leaving him severely injured......and then...."
He sighed again, his large eyebrows furrowing.
"And then your cat dialed the police."
You stared at him "He what?"
The man blushed, "I don't know how, but he did."
You nodded and watched as a gurney came out with a man on it.
It was your boyfriend. Or rather your EX-boyfriend.
You sat next to Ivan on your bed. The big cat blinked up at you. "You probably saved my life."
He blinked slowly and mewed "Da."
You patted his head slowly, " I'm really glad I got you."
He rubbed his head affectionately against your arm.
